About Us
Gye Nyame Memorial Hospital (GNMH) is located in Kumasi, the Regional Capital of Ashanti Region with a total projected population of 3.450
The geographical location of the 500-bed Gye Nyame Memorial Hospital, the road network of the country and commercial nature of Kumasi make the hospital accessible to all the areas that share boundaries with Ashanti Region and others that are further away.
As such, referrals are received from all the northern regions (namely, Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions), Brong Ahafo, Central, Western, Eastern and parts of the Volta Regions.

History
Mr. Emmanuel Quainoo, founder, Matron and chief executive officer of Gye Nyame Memorial Hospital, is a member of Evangelical Baptist Church, Suame, together with his wife, Mrs. Paulina Quainoo. Mr. Emmanuel Quainoo a General nursing and a medical assistants by profession was the chairman of the church’s Medical Committee and in the late 1980’s, single handedly attended to the health needs of the Church and the New Suame Community, helping especially in pregnancy, deliveries and general health cases.
Over time as his sphere of influence grew, the community encouraged him to start a small clinic which he obliged and started in 1988 in a small room adjoining his small two- room apartment. As a full time worker at the Gye Nyame Memorial Hospital (GNMH), he could only handle health cases on a part time basis, administering first aid and treating common cases such as malaria, typhoid etc.
